World Nutella Day - Crostata alla Nutella (Nutella Tart)
Today is World Nutella Day! Back in 2007 Sara from Ms. Adventures in Italy and Michelle from Bleeding Espresso created World Nutella Day.
I've participated 2007 with Brioche Cornetti filled with Nutella, 2009 with Nutella Rolls, last year with Nutella Marble Muffins. Even I'm not the hugest Nutella Fan I had to participate this year, too. I guess in one year I use about 1-2 glasses of Nutella. That's not so much, isn't it? Okay, it depends of the size of the jar. I know Nutella is available in XXL, but I buy only the jars of 400 grams. ;-)
Crostata alla Nutella (Nutella Tart)
for a mold of 18 cm diameter Hazelnut-Shortcrust
125 g flour
50 g finely ground hazelnuts
75 g cold butter
3 tbsp Vanilla flavored sugar
1 pinch salt
1 egg
Filling
about 250 g Nutella
Shortcrust: Place the flour, ground hazelnuts, sugar and butter in the bowl of a food processor and process until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the egg and process until the dough just starts to come together. Shape into a disc and place in the fridge for 30 minutes to rest.
Preheat oven to 180 C.
Roll 3/4 of the dough out and line the mold and about 2 cm of the sides. Prick the dough all over with a fork. Spread the Nutella evenly over the bottom of the mold. Roll out the rest of the dough and cut out heart shaped cookies. Valentine's Day is around the corner! ;-) Place the cookies on top of the tart. Bake the tart for about 35 minutes. Remove the tart from the oven and slide onto a rack. Allow the tart to cool. Before serving sprinkle with powdered sugar. More entries and recipes in English.
