DMBLGIT - January 2009 Announcement
I'm thrilled to be the host of Does My Blog Look Good in This? event for the second time. Thank you Andrew for this grandest foodporn event on the foodblogosphere!
I think I can say that since I hosted the last DMBLGIT back in 2007 I improved my photography skills, but still can learn a lot. So I'm quite happy I don't have to judge your pics alone. I'm supported by the following 4 gifted and talented foodbloggers.
What is DMBLGIT?
The idea behind the event is to give everyone a chance to enjoy some of the best pictures of the month posted on food blogs. There are so many food blogs now and stories are constantly posted that it's very easy to miss some great posts and pictures. This event takes us back through the food photos.
The rules & how to participate:
The judges will review your entries on the basis of
Aesthetics: composition, food styling, lighting, focus, etc.
Edibility: "Does the photo make us want to dive in and eat the food?"
Originality: the photograph that catches our attention and makes us want to say wow!, displaying something we might not have seen before.
From these categories, we will come up with:
Overall Winner: top overall scores in all three categories combined.
There are three overall winners for photographs with the highest point totals in all three categories combined, and one winner in each of the three individual categories.
For complete set of instructions on participation, visit Spittoon Extra.
You can find this month's entries in this gallery. I will upload your submissions as and when I receive them.
For last month's winners, visit Arfi's HomeMadeS.
Wishing you all good luck!
- Gabi from Crockyblog a journalist and a big fan of American, Italian and Mexican food.
- Lorraine from Not Quite Nigella is a cake and food enthusiast, who believes that cakes belong in an art gallery.
- Robert form lamiacucina a compatriot of mine, is a retired chemist who loves food, especially Italian food.
- Shari from Whisk: a food blog - what a surprise - her passion is food, too. ;-)

Have Fun
One new rule for '09 that we have slid in is that submissions should be text free!
I always put text somewhere near the food, I did it since one of my picture was stolen by one of news paper in my country.
Now my question is: If I send the same photo that I've posted but I clear the text, is it ok?
Thanks
@Sefa
